Founder Letter: The Glow From Below

Dear Rosies,

How are you doing out there? Feeling alive, connected, energized to create a beautiful next phase in your life?

I’ve been moving between programs and Rosebud, teaching classical Tantra and women’s embodiment work, leading groups, and, in general, diving ever more deeply into what it means to live a life where there is no gap between what we are and what we do: fully alive, fully embodied, turned on enough to show up with utter presence for this world. For me, this is all sourced from our erotic (not sexual) essence—especially that which lies dormant in the root chakra.

There are healing currents and potent energies in the pelvic bowl, in the soft tissue between your sit bones, at the root of the body where life began. Too much sitting, clenching, or armoring against violation, embarrassment, or just the relentless forward momentum of life can cause this energy to pool there—blocked, stagnant, not coursing freely through the body. Most of us don’t bring a fraction of the attention to this area that it deserves. In doing so, we miss out on an immense power source.

When I work with groups, no matter the topic, we start by moving that energy into the clogged places: shaking, moving the spine and hips, dancing, toning, sounding, breathing deeply, and bringing literal physical energy into the body. Then we settle and bring awareness and attention to the root chakra, the pelvic basin, and the genitals. We make unhurried contact—a hand resting on the lower belly, breath dropping below the navel. We might play with pulsing and accessing the musculature of the perineum and the vaginal walls, directing energy using the breath.

And we work with staying—both energetically and emotionally—with what arises when you actually make that contact. Sensation will move in response; grief might surface. Arousal patterns, fear, curiosity, or even relief at finally making contact might arise. The pelvis and genitals are places where the body keeps what the mind has filed away.

Meeting it means letting it speak without immediately translating it into action, story, or shutdown. Learning to feel the current without immediately acting on it—without rushing toward release or distraction. Letting it build. Letting it travel upward through the spine, into the belly, into the chest. The erotic is, in its oldest sense, the animating force: Eros as life itself, wanting more life through you.

If you move into self-touch, the body learns through repetition what the mind might doubt: the entirety of the body deserves care, and the blocked and inaccessible places are where the rest of our energy is hiding.

When your erotic essence is online, and this energy moves through your system, your eyes change. Your skin changes. The quality of your attention changes. The glow people notice in a woman who has found her way back to herself—that’s the current, unblocked, rising. Biology in conversation with something older than biology.

Tapping into the erotic essence as a full-body power center is a matter of releasing and dissolving the blocks and gates we have, quite intelligently, erected. We all have it.

Trust this: the body, fully inhabited, is a live wire of clarity and embodied consciousness in motion.

All systems go. All systems glow.

All love,

Christine
