Summer, in her wide-brimmed hat, has snuck up on me, tapped me on the shoulder, slid me a can’t-put-it-down paperback novel, handed me a fluffy giant towel, and invited me to her fully energized flower and hum, to align with summer energy. And I’m 100% a yes to that.  The summer season, all 92 days of it, is stretched out before us. How will we align with this seasonal energy, of warmth and creativity and simple abundance? Close your eyes and imagine wholeheartedly embracing summer! Wandering along sun-drenched trails, diving into sparkling waters, feeling the earth beneath bare feet.   Savoring the sweetness of succulent fruits, the summer harvests, food just bursting with vitality, fresh from the vine.    Making the space and time to gather with our families and friends, especially the elders and the babies. Talking, learning, caring for each other. Making music. Fostering deep connections and creating spaces of belonging. Sharing a picnic under a canopy of sprawling shade trees in full leaf. Feeling the pleasant exhaustion that comes after long summer days kayaking or hiking or rolling around in the grass with dogs and kids and lovers.   Summer extends an invitation to shed the worries that weigh us down, and let our inner light shine unrestrained.   It’s time. If not now, when? This summer, I’m making collective joy a practice, and asking, "How could this moment, this day, be even better? More fun? More magical?"   And this morning, on the solstice, we will have ceremonial  cacao in our trade show booth, and set our seasonal intentions with friends and visitors.   Join in this imagination and intention game with me:  What are the pleasures you want to invite in, the mischief and joy you want to cook up in this coming season? How much GOOD can you receive!?   Happy Summer Solstice, friends, and a very happy summer.   In the words of singer Snatam Kaur, "May the long time sun shine upon you, all love surround you, and guide your way home."
