Rapid Travel

Rapid #travel, especially air travel over long distances, can disrupt the balance of mind, body, spirit- a kind of spiritual #jetlag- anything faster than the pace of human embodiment (walking or riding horseback or bicycle). I do this a lot, so i have some #travelrituals to help the soul catch up.

They say it takes about a day for each hour of time zones crossed to be reintegrated.

🛫Along the Way🛬

At each stopping point on the journey (even in the airport on a layover), I do some micro-meditation like this: “I am now in Munich. This is Munich. My whole body is in Munich (scan and feel, deep breathing). This is the ground now called Germany. I can’t kiss the ground in the airport, but I can visualize it through the foundation and feel magnetized here (visualize, connect). My soul is catching up with me (pineal gland meditation).”

🛩️After Arriving🛩️When I get to my final destination, this is a solid ritual to ground in place, and help the soul catch up. 🛁Bathe and clear all the energies from travel. ⚡️⚡️

🔥💧🌱🌬️Acknowledge the Elements. 🧭Orient my Body to the Directions, nearest Mountain and Water Source. 👋Hello and ask Permission to be present of the Local Spirits. 🙏🏻 Set up my travel altar, give thanks for safe arrival, set intentions for why I am here. Always end in gratitude and acknowledgment of connection and beauty, of all the hands it took to be delivered safely. 🤲

Aboriginal cultures see all elements of the land, people, and animals as interconnected, and movement or travel must respect these connections. If people move too quickly or without due respect, they might experience spiritual discomfort or dislocation. Remedying this may involve ritual, storytelling, or other culturally specific practices. In Maori culture, the concept of connection to 'whenua' (land) is essential. Travel, especially far from home, can disrupt this connection, and it might be necessary to reconnect with the earth and allow the spirit to realign with the physical presence. We're not alone in this knowing, it just makes it more vital the faster we go.

Even when we are sky people, we belong to the earth.
